Electric machines run on non marking tyres and need a sound, level surface: structural slab, sealed hardstand or smooth compacted ground. Diesel rough terrain machines carry lugged tyres and ground clearance for site dirt, gravel and grades within their rating. Tracked machines spread their weight, which is what lets them cross turf, pavers and landscaped ground.
The controlling figure is the machine width against the tightest point on the route in, not the width of the work area. Measure the narrowest gate, doorway or corridor and tell us that number. Ramps, thresholds, lift dimensions and floor loading matter as much as the opening.
Scissor lifts and vertical mast lifts are not boom type platforms, so no High Risk Work Licence applies to them in NSW at any height. Machines in this category reach 6.5 to 17.98 metres working height, and that does not change the answer.
Sites normally require recognised EWP operator training, commonly asked for as a Yellow Card, together with a site induction. The employer is responsible for verifying competency on the specific machine.

Working height across the scissor lifts we hire is 6.5 to 17.98 metres. Working height is where your hands reach, which is about two metres above the platform floor. Platform height is the deck itself, and it is the smaller figure in every specification.
Recorded machine width runs from 760 mm to 2300 mm. That range covers the 25 of 30 machines here with a verified width; the others are not yet recorded, so they may be narrower or wider. The narrowest recorded width clears a standard 820 mm doorway, and we confirm any machine against the actual opening you measure. Measure the clear opening rather than the door frame, and tell us the tightest point on the whole route in.
Between 1520 kg and 8045 kg for 17 of 30 machines here; the others are not yet recorded. Weight decides two things: whether the floor or ground carries the machine, and what has to be on site to unload it. Ask us for the figure for a specific machine if a slab rating or a suspended floor is involved.
