Telehandler Hire Sydney
Four-wheel-drive telehandlers that lift and place loads rather than people, from 2.5 tonne at 5.78m to 4 tonne at 13.6m. Read the load chart at the reach you are working to, not the headline capacity.
A telehandler places a load at height and at distance. It is a materials machine, not an access platform: pallets onto a level, blocks to a scaffold, roof sheets to a work face.
Typical jobs
Pallet and material placement at height
Loading and unloading on site
Roof sheet and cladding delivery
Block, brick and frame handling
Yard and stockpile work
Sizes and figures across this category
Measured across the machines currently available for hire in this category. Where a specification is not recorded we leave it out rather than estimate it.

Counted from the machines listed below, each one currently available to hire.
Working height
5.78 to 13.6 m
Platform height plus about 2 m for a person on the platform. Indicative, and not a safe working limit.
Horizontal outreach
3.25 to 4 m
How far out from the machine the platform will work, at the capacity the manufacturer states for that position.
Machine width
2300 mm
Measured across the machine. Add a working clearance before comparing it to an opening.
Machine weight
5100 to 6900 kg
What the floor, the ground and the trailer have to carry.
Platform capacity
2500 to 4000 kg
People, tools and materials together.

The figures customers decide on, side by side. A cell reading "Ask us" means the specification is not recorded for that machine, so we confirm it from the manufacturer sheet rather than print an estimate.

Compliance
Non-slewing telehandler rated 2,500 kg, which is under the 3 tonne threshold, so no non-slewing mobile crane high risk work licence (class CN, TLILIC0040) is required in NSW to place a load on the forks. Verification of competency still applies. Read the load chart at reach before every lift.ask before booking

Telehandlers are load-shifting plant. A high risk work licence is not required in NSW for a non-slewing telehandler under 3 tonne capacity, but the operator must be trained and assessed as competent. Where capacity exceeds 3 tonne, the non-slewing mobile crane licence (class CN, TLILIC0040) applies. Lifting a person requires an approved work platform attachment and the matching licence.ask before booking

A Confirm mark means the decisive figure is not on that record. Open the machine for the full seven-question panel and its manufacturer sheet; we never guess a specification.
Ground, access and licences
The three things that decide whether a machine can actually do your job, answered before you get to the quote form.
Ground it works on
Compacted site ground and hardstand. Load charts assume a level machine, and reaching out reduces capacity sharply, so the set up surface matters as much as the ground you drive across. Machines with outriggers need a firm, level footing for each one.
Access and the route in
Height and reach are set by the load chart, not by the maximum figures. Tell us the weight, the height and the distance out, and we will read the chart for the machine rather than quoting a headline number.
A telehandler placing a load on forks is plant, and no high risk work licence applies to that use. Used as a crane, with the load slung rather than carried on the forks, a machine rated over three tonnes needs a non slewing mobile crane licence.
Every operator needs verification of competency for the machine, plus the site induction. Load charts are part of that: capacity falls away as the boom extends, so the chart, not the headline reach, sets what the machine can do.
Tell us how the machine will be used and what it has to lift. We will confirm which licence applies before it leaves the depot.
Delivery and pickup
We deliver
Our depot is at Berkshire Park in Western Sydney and we deliver across Sydney and throughout NSW. Delivery is quoted with the hire, by suburb, access and the transport the machine needs, so you see one figure rather than a surprise on the invoice.
Tell us the tightest access width and whether a tilt tray can reach a firm, level unloading point.
No machine in this category is currently approved for depot pickup. Approval needs a verified machine weight and a trailer rated to carry it, and where we do not hold both we deliver on our own truck instead of letting a customer find out on the ramp.
Answer a few quick questions about the job, the height, the ground and the tightest opening. We match it against the recorded specifications of every machine we can verify, and show you what fits and what does not.
Answered from the recorded specifications of the machines above and from the rules that apply in NSW, not from a general article.
How high and how far can these machines place a load?
Maximum lift height across the telehandlers we hire is 5.78 to 13.6 metres. Maximum forward reach is 3.25 to 4 metres. Neither figure is available at the same time as full capacity: the load chart for the machine sets what it can lift at a given height and reach, and capacity falls away sharply as the boom extends. Tell us the weight, the height and the distance out and we will read the chart rather than quote a maximum at you.
How wide are they, and will one fit through a doorway?
Verified width: 2300 mm for 1 of 4 models; the others are not yet recorded, so ask and we will confirm the one you are looking at. Every recorded width is wider than a standard 820 mm internal doorway, so plan on a double door, a roller shutter or a wider opening unless we confirm a narrower machine. Measure the clear opening rather than the door frame, and tell us the tightest point on the whole route in.
How much do they weigh?
Between 5100 kg and 6900 kg for 2 of 4 machines here; the others are not yet recorded. Weight decides two things: whether the floor or ground carries the machine, and what has to be on site to unload it. Ask us for the figure for a specific machine if a slab rating or a suspended floor is involved.
How much can they lift?
Maximum lift capacity is 2500 kg to 4000 kg. That is the figure at the machine's most favourable position, not at full height or full reach. Capacity at maximum height and capacity at maximum reach are both lower, and both come off the load chart for the specific machine.
Can I collect a machine myself?
Not in this category. Pickup is only approved where we hold a verified machine weight and a trailer rated to carry it, and no machine here currently meets both. These are delivered on our own truck, with delivery quoted by suburb.
How is delivery quoted?
By suburb, access and the transport the machine needs, quoted with the hire so you see one figure. Our depot is in Western Sydney at Berkshire Park and we deliver across Sydney and throughout NSW. Tell us the tightest access width and whether a tilt tray can reach a firm, level unloading point.
