For a faster recommendation, have these six details ready. They are what decides which machine actually suits the job, and we will ask for them either way.
- Required working height — how high your hands need to reach, not the platform height. The two differ by about two metres.
- Narrowest access width — the tightest point on the whole route in, measured as a clear opening rather than a nominal door size. Allow for handles, gate posts and the angle of approach.
- Ground and surface — finished slab, sealed hardstand, pavers, turf, compacted site ground or soft fill. This is what decides wheels or tracks.
- Job suburb — delivery is quoted for the suburb, the machine and the site access together.
- Expected hire duration — how long you need it on site, even approximately.
- Indoor or outdoor work — and whether the machine has to travel between the two. Diesel machines are not an indoor option.
If you are not sure of a figure, tell us what you do know and what the work is. A rough measurement we can check beats a confident one that turns out to be the door frame rather than the opening.
