What electric scissor lifts are for

Electric scissor lifts are the standard machine for indoor work and finished floors. They are quiet, produce no fumes, run on non marking tyres and charge from a normal wall socket, so they suit occupied buildings and night shifts.

Typical jobs

  • Ceiling and service work over finished slab
  • Electrical, lighting and data installation
  • Fit outs in occupied buildings
  • Warehouse and racking maintenance
  • Painting and plastering at height

What hire costs

A starting figure so you can budget before you enquire. The quote is still priced on the job, because delivery suburb, hire duration and availability all move it.

  • 19ft electric scissor lifts are $295 per week, which works out at about $59 per day across a five day week. Excludes GST and delivery.

Rates exclude GST, delivery and the damage waiver. The final figure depends on hire duration, delivery suburb and machine availability, so every quote is priced on the job.

A Confirm mark means the decisive figure is not on that record. Open the machine for the full seven-question panel and its manufacturer sheet; we never guess a specification.

Ground, access and licences

The three things that decide whether a machine can actually do your job, answered before you get to the quote form.

Ground it works on

Structural slab or sealed hardstand. Non marking tyres will not mark a finished floor, but they need a firm level surface: they do not cross turf, loose gravel or soft fill. Check the floor rating against the machine weight where the slab is suspended or the building is old.

Access and the route in

Measure the narrowest opening on the whole route, including the lift if the machine has to go up a level. Machine width plus a working clearance is what has to fit, and a doorway measured at the frame is not the same as the clear opening.

Check an opening against the fleet

Licences and training

Scissor lifts and vertical mast lifts are not boom type platforms, so no High Risk Work Licence applies to them in NSW at any height. Machines in this category reach 6.5 to 15.8 metres working height, and that does not change the answer.

Sites normally require recognised EWP operator training, commonly asked for as a Yellow Card, together with a site induction. The employer is responsible for verifying competency on the specific machine.

We can supply the machine specification sheet and risk assessment for your SWMS, and arrange a licensed operator with the machine if you would rather not operate it yourself.

Delivery and pickup

We deliver

Our depot is at Berkshire Park in Western Sydney and we deliver across Sydney and throughout NSW. Delivery is quoted with the hire, by suburb, access and the transport the machine needs, so you see one figure rather than a surprise on the invoice.

Tell us the tightest access width and whether a tilt tray can reach a firm, level unloading point.

Service and delivery areas

Or you collect

No machine in this category is currently approved for depot pickup. Approval needs a verified machine weight and a trailer rated to carry it, and where we do not hold both we deliver on our own truck instead of letting a customer find out on the ramp.

Electric scissor lift delivery across Sydney

These are the machines that go inside occupied buildings, so the delivery detail matters as much as the machine.

  • Delivery is quoted by suburb from Berkshire Park, including after hours and night shift work by arrangement.
  • Tell us the floor: structural slab, suspended floor or sealed hardstand, and whether a lift has to carry the machine up a level.
  • Measure the clear opening rather than the door frame. The narrowest point on the whole route is the figure that decides the machine.

Check delivery to your suburb

We deliver from one depot at Berkshire Park in Western Sydney. Enter your suburb or postcode and we will tell you where you stand before you ask for a quote.

No prices are shown here. Delivery is quoted with the hire, for the suburb, the machine and the site access.

Advice for this category

Written by the people who deliver and service these machines.

Not sure which one?

Answer a few quick questions about the job, the height, the ground and the tightest opening. We match it against the recorded specifications of every machine we can verify, and show you what fits and what does not.

Questions we get asked

Answered from the recorded specifications of the machines above and from the rules that apply in NSW, not from a general article.

How high do these machines reach?

Working height across the electric scissor lifts we hire is 6.5 to 15.8 metres. Working height is where your hands reach, which is about two metres above the platform floor. Platform height is the deck itself, and it is the smaller figure in every specification.

How wide are they, and will one fit through a doorway?

Recorded machine width runs from 760 mm to 1410 mm. That range covers the 16 of 17 machines here with a verified width; the others are not yet recorded, so they may be narrower or wider. The narrowest recorded width clears a standard 820 mm doorway, and we confirm any machine against the actual opening you measure. Measure the clear opening rather than the door frame, and tell us the tightest point on the whole route in.

How much do they weigh?

Between 1520 kg and 3393 kg for 9 of 17 machines here; the others are not yet recorded. Weight decides two things: whether the floor or ground carries the machine, and what has to be on site to unload it. Ask us for the figure for a specific machine if a slab rating or a suspended floor is involved.

How much can the platform carry?

Platform capacity is 227 kg to 454 kg, and that figure includes the people on the platform as well as their tools and materials. Where a machine has a deck extension, the capacity on the extension is lower than the capacity on the main deck.

Can I collect a machine myself?

Not in this category. Pickup is only approved where we hold a verified machine weight and a trailer rated to carry it, and no machine here currently meets both. These are delivered on our own truck, with delivery quoted by suburb.

How is delivery quoted?

By suburb, access and the transport the machine needs, quoted with the hire so you see one figure. Our depot is in Western Sydney at Berkshire Park and we deliver across Sydney and throughout NSW. Tell us the tightest access width and whether a tilt tray can reach a firm, level unloading point.

What does hire cost?

19ft electric scissor lifts are $295 per week, which works out at about $59 per day across a five day week. Excludes GST and delivery. Rates exclude GST, delivery and the damage waiver. The final figure depends on hire duration, delivery suburb and machine availability, so every quote is priced on the job.
