Overview
The Genie GS-3246 is a 32ft electric scissor lift: 11.75 m working height, 9.75 m platform height and 318 kg lift capacity, with 113 kg on the 0.91 m slide-out extension deck. The 2.26 x 1.15 m platform sits on a 1.17 m wide chassis and folds down to 2.39 m for transport. 24V power (four 6V 225Ah batteries), SmartLink two-speed lift and drive, solid non-marking 15x5x11in tyres, 25% gradeability and a 2.29 m outside turning radius. Two people indoors, one outdoors.
Indoor work at around 10 to 11 m on a finished floor where two people need tools and materials on the deck: warehouse lighting and services, high ceilings in retail and commercial fit-outs, sprinkler and fire-service work, racking and signage. The wide platform and 318 kg rating carry more than a narrow 32ft machine, which is the reason to choose it when the doorways allow.

An 820 mm door leaf is not 820 mm of clear opening once the stop and hardware are counted. Measure the gap.
Wheeled machines rut turf and bog in soft ground. Say so when you book: a tracked machine may suit, after the ground is checked.
Shopping centres and managed sites need the paperwork approved before the truck arrives.
Working height is 11.8 m and the platform floor rises to 9.8 m. Working height is the platform height plus about 2 m for a person standing on the platform, which is how hire sizes are normally stated.
It is 1.17 m wide and 2.41 m long when stowed. We look for at least 50 mm of clearance beyond the machine width at each opening. Measure the narrowest point of the whole route, not just the final doorway: gates, door frames, corridors, lift cars and the turn in from a corridor, which needs more room than a straight approach.
Stowed (travel) height is 2.39 m. Check headroom along the route: door heads, roller doors, ducts, sprinklers and ramps.
Rated platform capacity is 318 kg. People, tools and materials all count. The extension deck has its own limit of 113 kg, which applies at the same time as the platform limit.
A scissor lift goes straight up; the extension deck, where fitted, slides out over the front only. To work over an awning, a roof edge or plant, look at articulating boom lifts, which go up and out.
It is built for firm, level, hard surfaces: concrete floors, sealed paving and slabs. It is not for grass, gravel, mud or uneven ground. Check the floor or ground can carry its weight (see below).
Outdoor use is limited: it can work outside only within the conditions in its manual (firm level ground, reduced wind and occupancy where stated), so we confirm those for your site before outdoor work. Electric power means no exhaust indoors, but electric power alone does not make a machine rated for outdoor use.
Gradeability of 25% is the steepest slope it can drive up while stowed. That is not permission to raise the platform on a slope: elevated work needs ground within the manufacturer's tilt limit, and the tilt alarm stops elevation beyond it.
It runs on batteries (24V (four 6V 225Ah batteries)). You need a standard power outlet near where it is parked, and it should be charged at the end of each day. Ask us if your site power is limited or temporary.
Runtime depends on how far it drives, how often it lifts, the load, temperature and battery age, so there is no fixed number of hours. Plan to charge it every night, and tell us if your work involves a lot of driving between work areas.
It weighs about 2,364 kg. Weight alone does not show whether a floor can take it: suspended slabs, mezzanines, pits, pavers and lift cars need their rating checked against the wheel or track loads in the manufacturer's data, by someone able to assess the structure.
Delivery is from our Berkshire Park depot. Delivery is quoted with the machine for your suburb, site access and hire dates. Customer pickup has not been approved for this machine, so plan on delivery.
For delivery, the truck needs a firm, clear area to unload close to the work, and someone on site to sign for the machine.
Transport is quoted separately for your suburb and site. A longer-term rate applies only when the hire runs for its minimum period; a shorter hire is quoted at the rate for its actual length.
No high risk work licence is needed for a scissor lift in NSW. Operators must still be trained and competent for this type of machine and familiarised with this model before use, and many sites ask for an industry card such as the EWPA Yellow Card plus their own induction. The machine, your dates, the site suburb and anything that limits access: the narrowest opening, headroom, ground type and how high the work is. The team confirms availability for your dates and that the machine suits the site, then sends the quote with delivery. Nothing is booked until we confirm.
A hire can be extended. Call or email the team with your hire reference and the new finish date, and earlier is better because the machine may be committed to another job. Extra time is confirmed with you, and the rate for the longer period is confirmed with it: a change to the booking can mean the rate is revised, a minimum hire applies, or the correct rate for the actual hire period is used.
Hire charges run until the machine is properly off-hired with Equip Hire and is available for collection, clean, accessible and safe to collect. To off-hire you contact Equip Hire directly and get an off-hire number or confirmation back. Stopping work, leaving the machine on site, telling another contractor or assuming we know the job is finished does not end the hire. Charges stop at the confirmed off-hire, not on the day the truck happens to arrive, but they can continue if the machine is not accessible or ready when we come for it.

Working height, not platform height
Working height is 11.75 m (about 39 feet); the platform floor reaches 9.75 m (about 32 feet), the figure a size in feet usually names. Working height is what a person can reach standing on the platform, roughly two metres above the platform floor. Check which of the two figures a quote is using.
