Our story

Started in a backyard in Western Sydney

Equip Hire started in a backyard in Western Sydney with a simple idea: access equipment hire should be straightforward, fairly priced and backed by people who care whether the machine is right for the job.

We began small, learned the equipment hands-on and built the business one customer and one project at a time. Those humble beginnings still shape how we operate today.

As a small Australian-owned company, we focus on practical value, clear communication and genuine customer care. We take the time to understand the working height, terrain, access width, power requirements and delivery location before helping match equipment to the job.

Our goal is not simply to send out a machine. It is to provide dependable support and value for money, so our customers can keep their work moving and safely elevate their next project.

Straight Answers to Common Hire Questions

Good to know

Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing a Machine

What is working height and how is it different from platform height?

Platform height is the height of the platform floor above the ground. Working height estimates the level you can reach while working from the platform: manufacturers commonly calculate it by adding an assumed operator reach, often around two metres, but the exact allowance varies between manufacturers and models. If your job needs work at 8 metres, compare that against the working height figure, and check the machine specifications rather than relying on a rule of thumb. We confirm the right machine before we quote.

What if I am not sure which machine I need?

Answer the Quote Assistant questions or call us. We check working height, ground surface, access width and power before recommending anything, and say so if we are not the right fit.

Hire and Pricing

What details do you need for a quote?

The working height you need to reach, what the ground is like, the tightest access point, the job suburb and your dates. That is enough for us to recommend a machine and quote it with delivery.

Is there a minimum hire period?

Machines hire by the day or by the week, and weekly rates work out better value for longer jobs. Tell us your dates and we will quote the period that suits the job.

Can I buy a machine instead of hiring?

Yes. We sell selected machines, including well-maintained ex-hire units, alongside the hire fleet. Condition, hours and price are confirmed on enquiry. See machines currently for sale.

Delivery and Pickup

How is delivery priced?

Delivery and collection are quoted together for your suburb and site access. Tell us the suburb in the quote form and we include transport in the price.

What areas do you deliver to?

We deliver across Greater Sydney from Berkshire Park, Western Sydney. Regional NSW delivery is available by enquiry, quoted for your actual location. See all service areas.

Can I pick the machine up myself?

Some machines are approved for customer pickup with a suitable trailer. The quote form tells you when pickup is available for the machine you choose. After-hours pickup can be arranged in advance.

Safety and Operation

Do your machines come with specifications and safety documents?

Yes. Each machine page lists verified specifications, and approved documents such as specification sheets and risk assessments are available to download where published. Browse the fleet.

Accounts and Payments

Are you available 24/7?

Enquiries are welcome 24/7 through the website, phone and email. Calls may not always be answered immediately outside normal working periods, and after-hours pickup or delivery is arranged in advance.
