Overview

About the Zoomlion ZA10RJE Electric Articulating Boom Lift

The Zoomlion ZA10RJE is a battery-electric articulating (knuckle) boom lift: 11.55m working height, 9.55m platform height, 6.85m horizontal outreach and 4.6m up-and-over clearance, with a 230kg platform. At 1.19m stowed width it gets through gateways and side passages a diesel boom cannot, and the 48V pack means no exhaust and low noise. The jib rotates 90 degrees each way, the turntable swings 355 degrees non-continuous, and the machine has zero tail swing. Auto-levelling, load sensing and over-tilt protection are standard.

Where it works

Best-fit jobs and sites

  • Access over and around obstacles where a diesel boom is too loud or too wide, warehouse and plant maintenance, tight residential and commercial sites.

Good to confirm: 6,550kg machine — confirm floor and slab loading before taking it inside. Battery run time limits long continuous shifts. An online listing cannot replace a site assessment, so tell us the job and we will confirm suitability.

The numbers that decide access

Machine width
1.19 m: needs double doors or gate access

Drawn to scale from this machine's stored specifications. The manufacturer spec sheet (below) governs.

Delivery, access and running

Delivery is quoted by suburb, site access and transport requirements. Tell us the tightest access width on site if the machine must pass through gates, doorways or between structures.
Licence and competency: Boom-type EWP. A WP-class high-risk work licence is required in NSW where the boom length is 11m or more — check the plate on this machine before allocating. Harness with lanyard mandatory in the basket.
Hire period: Hire runs from delivery or pickup until off-hire is confirmed. Rates are quoted for your dates, suburb and machine together; see our hire terms for responsibilities during the hire.

Charging this machine

Batteries
48V (24 x 2V / 330Ah), 48V 35A smart charger
Our fleet guidance
Charge overnight (about 8 hours) from a standard outlet for a full day's work. Runtime depends on battery condition, drive distance and lift cycles. Ask us if your job runs long shifts.
  • Confirm a live, accessible power outlet near where the machine parks each night. A machine left away from power starts tomorrow flat.
  • Plug in at the end of every shift, not "when it gets low"; opportunity charging at breaks helps on heavy days.
  • Charge in a ventilated area and keep the charger connections dry.

Pre-start checks, every day

Every Equip Hire machine is function-tested before delivery, and every operator still checks the machine before each shift. This is the baseline we use; the machine's own logbook and check sheet govern.

Walk around

  • Tyres, wheels and structure: damage, cracks, leaks
  • Scissor stack / boom, pins and hoses: no visible damage or hydraulic leaks
  • Decals, capacity plate and rails in place; gates close properly
  • Work area: overhead power lines, holes, slopes, other traffic

Power on

  • Battery state of charge: enough for the shift
  • Ground and platform controls both operate correctly
  • Emergency stop and horn work from both stations

Function test

  • Raise, lower and drive at low height before working
  • Emergency lowering: know where it is and that it works
  • Tilt / overload alarms not showing faults
  • Harness on, lanyard to the rated anchor point: mandatory in the basket

Any fault: tag it out and call us on 0472 721 234. Do not operate a machine with a known fault. Based on manufacturer pre-start requirements and SafeWork NSW guidance.

Before it arrives

  • Measure the route, not the door. Every gate, corridor and lift on the way to the work area: handles, hinges, bollards and stored materials all eat clearance.
  • Confirm the floor. Ground-bearing slab is fine; suspended slabs, mezzanines and raised floors need the wheel loads checked against the floor rating.
  • Clear the work zone. Overhead services, sprinkler heads and light fittings at working height; exclusion for people below.
  • Delivery space. Room for the truck to stop and unload safely. Tell us about docks, driveways and height limits when you book.
  • Power point. A live outlet near overnight parking, so every day starts charged.

Mistakes we see weekly

  • Booking on ceiling height instead of the actual task height. Measure to the work, then add nothing "just in case".
  • Quoting the nominal door size instead of the clear opening. An 820 mm door leaf are not 820 mm once the door stop is counted.
  • Assuming the machine can cross "a bit of lawn". Wheeled machines rut turf and bog in soft ground; say so and we'll send tracks.
  • Leaving induction and permit requirements to delivery morning. Shopping centres and managed sites need paperwork before the truck arrives.
