Quoted by suburb & access

Delivery, access and running

Delivery is quoted by suburb, site access and transport requirements. Tell us the tightest access width on site if the machine must pass through gates, doorways or between structures.
Hire period: Hire runs from delivery or pickup until off-hire is confirmed. Rates are quoted for your dates, suburb and machine together; see our hire terms for responsibilities during the hire.

Pre-start checks, every day

Every Equip Hire machine is function-tested before delivery, and every operator still checks the machine before each shift. This is the baseline we use; the machine's own logbook and check sheet govern.

Walk around

  • Tyres / tracks, wheels and structure: damage, cracks, leaks
  • Scissor stack / boom, pins and hoses: no visible damage or hydraulic leaks
  • Decals, capacity plate and rails in place; gates close properly
  • Work area: overhead power lines, holes, slopes, other traffic

Power on

  • Fuel level, engine oil and coolant
  • Ground and platform controls both operate correctly
  • Emergency stop and horn work from both stations

Function test

  • Raise, lower and drive at low height before working
  • Emergency lowering: know where it is and that it works
  • Tilt / overload alarms not showing faults

Any fault: tag it out and call us on 0472 721 234. Do not operate a machine with a known fault. Based on manufacturer pre-start requirements and SafeWork NSW guidance.

Before it arrives

  • Measure the route, not the door. Every gate, corridor and lift on the way to the work area: handles, hinges, bollards and stored materials all eat clearance.
  • Confirm the floor. Ground-bearing slab is fine; suspended slabs, mezzanines and raised floors need the wheel loads checked against the floor rating.
  • Clear the work zone. Overhead services, sprinkler heads and light fittings at working height; exclusion for people below.
  • Delivery space. Room for the truck to stop and unload safely. Tell us about docks, driveways and height limits when you book.

Mistakes we see weekly

  • Booking on ceiling height instead of the actual task height. Measure to the work, then add nothing "just in case".
  • Quoting the nominal door size instead of the clear opening. An 820 mm door leaf are not 820 mm once the door stop is counted.
  • Assuming the machine can cross "a bit of lawn". Wheeled machines rut turf and bog in soft ground; say so and we'll send tracks.
  • Leaving induction and permit requirements to delivery morning. Shopping centres and managed sites need paperwork before the truck arrives.
