Quick answer: eligible 19ft electric scissor lifts (about 1.5 t) can be picked up on an approved plant trailer, giving a towed weight around 2.2–2.5 t. That is within a standard car licence in NSW and the braked towing capacity of most utes and larger SUVs — but your vehicle’s ratings, ball weight, brake controller and load restraint all have to check out, and Equip Hire approves the exact combination at pickup.

What we check at the yard

Before any machine leaves on a trailer we check the hitch and coupling, the brake controller connection, tie-down points and restraint, and walk through loading and unloading. If anything is not right, we deliver instead — it is not worth an incident on the M7.

Common questions

Why is only the 19ft electric offered for pickup?

It is the only class light enough for a standard plant trailer and common tow vehicles. Everything heavier — tracked, diesel and boom classes — is delivered on our truck.

Is this tool an approval to tow?

No. It is a planning check. Towing capacity, licensing and load restraint remain your responsibility under NSW road rules, and the final call on the combination happens at pickup.
