Help Choosing

Not sure which machine suits the job?

The right machine depends on working height, the surface it stands on, the tightest access width, whether the work is indoors or out, power restrictions on site, and any obstacles you need to reach past. Answer a few questions and the Quote Assistant will match machines from the actual fleet.

Equipment hire questions

What is the difference between platform height and working height?
Platform height is how high the platform floor rises. Working height adds roughly two metres for the reach of a person standing on the platform. Hire companies list both; size your machine on working height for the task you need to touch.
Which machine suits indoor work?
Electric scissor lifts are the usual answer: quiet, fume-free and gentle on finished slabs. For doorways and narrow aisles, a narrow electric scissor lift keeps the same benefits in a slimmer chassis.
Can a scissor lift be used on uneven ground?
Standard electric scissor lifts cannot. For unsealed or uneven ground you need a diesel rough terrain scissor lift, or a tracked machine for lawns and sensitive surfaces. Every machine has slope limits, so tell us about the site before booking.
Can I collect a machine on a trailer?
Some compact machines are trailer-eligible and we hire Brian James plant trailers rated for them. You need a vehicle rated for the combined load and the correct licence; we confirm weights with you before pickup.
Do you deliver to my suburb?
We deliver across Greater Sydney and regional New South Wales. Delivery is quoted by suburb and access, together with the machine, so the price you see covers the whole job. Check your area on the Service Areas page.
Do I need a licence to operate a scissor lift?
For scissor lifts under 11 m platform height, a licence is generally not required in NSW, but operators must be trained and site rules may add requirements. Boom lifts over 11 m require a high-risk work licence. Confirm your site's induction and licensing rules before work begins.
